Gothic Hair
The term Gothic hair takes me into a timeless era. It has values that appeal to our senses because of which it manifests itself into our life styles in varying degrees. Goths were originally an East Germanic tribe with a lifestyle different in all aspects. They believed in extreme appearances so had bold and very funky styling. Gothic hair is more about color and bold styling.
Gothic hair varies from what kind of Goth you are? Gothic hair can be romantic and can be cyber Goth or death hawk too. Many different kinds of styles are there.
Gothic hair stands for basically black color hair with some random streaks and color also. Streaks can be in red, purple, blue, burgundy, ink blue, yellow or fire engine red or optionally pink too. Gothic hair was generally kept straight and long but you can have a Gothic look with short hair too. Keep them straight and get some strands on the back crimped. You can keep them jet black to match them with the charcoal eye liner look and the black dress for a complete Gothic look.
For variations in the Gothic hair look try these: Color hair purple and tie them on both sides. Leave hair on the sides and slightly curl them for the washed away look. For One more Gothic hair look, long black hair with long orange streaks and pull up some hair till the neck and roll them in and let the orange streaks fall in till the shoulders and voila there you are, cannot get more Gothic than that.
For another Gothic look, color some hair burgundy and leave the rest black. Do Cleopatra styles cut with a fringe in the front and layers for the rest of the hair. To make it more like Gothic hair, color the tips burgundy and that should do wonders. For a cyber Goth style Gothic hair is a little bolder and go platinum and black long straight hair with slight crimps. This will shine out. You can also have a Gothic hairstyle with a short crop. Do a blunt till your cheek bones and roll them in and mix some orange with black color.
Gothic men can have very similar Gothic hair styles; they also use colors and have their hair long and short. For Gothic hair they can turn all hair one side and some long some short and can shave off a little portion of the other side. Men can also color their hair in red, orange and many times they used blue too. They can spike them and add highlights too. This will give a very punk Gothic hair look which was followed in the late 1970s.
Gothic hair styles have been there since Romans and carries on till now. It is a culture and very bold attire. So it is not only Gothic hair but also the whole look which one can adapt and look different and stand out. Gothic hair styles are sometimes seen as fashion and can be taken by many people as morbid and dark at the core of Gothic ideology lies the concept of darkness being an inherent component within us. It is only when we are able to recognize and assimilate this characteristic within our personality we are in a position to complete the fabric of morality.
Dyed Hair
Color treated, or dyed, hair requires special care and maintenance. People with colored hair usually have to do a lot more than people who haven't done anything to their hair. The reason why colored hair has more problems is because when the hair is colored, it creates holes in the hair, these holes are prone to being damaged more so. There are 3 main things that dyed hair needs: Help from physical problems, moisturizing abilities, and a way to ensure that the color lasts a long time.
One way to prevent breaking your hair is to pat it dry or let it air dry on it's own rather than bundling it up in a towel. If you must brush your hair when it is wet then you should use a wide toothed brush or comb. Some people want to blow dry their hair but this is not the best way to dry it because it can dry out your hair fast or create static electricity.
Using conditioner after each time that you wash your hair will help it remain healthy. Using hairspray can provide an extra layer of protection for your hair if it contains vitamins or conditioner in it (most brands have them added now). If you want straight hair then you should get a deep conditioning package from a salon every week. While at the salon you can get a glaze treatment that will not only make your hair stronger, but it will help keep your color longer.
If you wash it too much then it will speed the the rate in which your hair color fades. There are special types of shampoo and conditioner made for dyed hair. Some conditioners are able to color your hair or add a hint of color to retain its current color. Some conditioners are necessary for protecting your hair from the sun since sun light can damage hair extremely quickly.
Taper Fade Haircuts
Taper Fade Haircuts are among the few haircut varieties that have remained almost exclusively 'male' with many men (and hardly any woman) spotting them over the years.
Taper fade haircuts are not hard to point out, as they are characterized by 'layering' of the hair, so that the hair is shortest (actually almost absent) at the back end of the head, but then picks up height in progressive and quite beautiful layers as one moves forward towards the front part of the head, so that the layers on the front part are made up of quite long hair. The same pattern repeats on the sides of the head, where we have the layers surrounding the ears with very short (actually almost no) hair, but with the hair then growing progressively, as one moves towards the centre of the head; to meet the progressively longer layers of year that 'have been growing' from the back of the head forwards.
Taxonomically, the taper fade haircuts can be seen as belonging to what are referred to as formal hairstyles, as they are commonly worn and loved by people involved in formal business and professional undertakings. This is partly because of their elegant look (as the progressively taller neat layers of hair that characterize taper fade haircuts ooze elegance through and through), making them a good accessory for the businessman or professional who wants to communicate elegance through their choice of hairstyle.
Cost-wise, taper fade haircuts are not very expensive to maintain; but they don't come very cheap either, as the careful layering of the hair that makes up this hairstyle is not something many people can do for themselves: meaning that to maintain the tapered look, they do have to visit the barber shop regularly. Notably though, is the fact that there are people who attempt, with some degrees of success, to make the very basic taper fade haircuts by themselves at home, with many CDs and DVDs having been made to help people towards this end. Nonetheless, if you want a truly great looking layered look that a properly done taper fade hair cut can provide, you really do need to visit an experienced hairstylist for the same. It is also worth noting that letting the hair that makes up the layers grow too long could mess up with the look (since different parts of the head tend to register different rates of hair growth), so that a part of the head that was supposed to host 'lower' layers could end up hosting 'higher' layers if the hair is let to grow too long, thus messing up with the look. This translates to the need for at least a fortnightly visit to the barber shop, to maintain the tapered look that taper fade hairstyles produce.
